8.4. System of self-diagnostics

GENERAL INFORMATION

The ESM electronic control unit contains the built-in system of self-diagnostics which finds and distinguishes malfunctions. At emergence of malfunction the control bulb "lights up to check the engine", malfunction is identified and diagnostics code is registered. The lamp of the alarm system "check the engine" which is located on a combination of devices, lights up at ignition inclusion.
After start of the engine a control lamp "to check the engine" has to go out. If the lamp continues to burn after start of the engine, so in electronic system there is a malfunction.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For definition of codes of malfunctions check that the accumulator is completely charged, the butterfly valve is completely closed, the transmission is in neutral situation, all electric consumers are switched off and the engine is heated-up up to the working temperature.
2. Include ignition, but do not start the engine.

3. Using an additional wire, connect contacts of TE1 and E1 of the control socket.

4. The code of malfunction is determined by quantity of blinkings of a bulb. The first figure of a code is defined by quantity of blinkings of a bulb, then after a pause the second figure of a code by quantity of blinkings of a bulb is defined. For example, code 24. The bulb will blink 2 times, then after a pause 4 more times.

5. If in memory of the electronic block some malfunctions are written down, they will be highlighted in turn.
6. To erase from memory the written-down code neisprav to Nosta, take EFI safety lock on 15 A at least on 10 sec. at the switched-off ignition.
7. The code of malfunction can also be erased, removing a weight wire from the accumulator.
