6.13.6. Control air valve (IAC)

6.13.6.1. Check

GENERAL INFORMATION

Connection of a tachometer to contact of the IG socket of communication of the data located in the lower part of a motor compartment

Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air +BI and SCC and +BI and SCO valve on the four-cylinder engine

Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air +BI and RSC valve and + B and RSO on the engine 1MZ-FE V6

Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air B1 and S1 and V1 and S3 valve, and also between contacts of B2 and S2 and contacts of B2 and S4

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the emergency brake and install the switching lever in neutral situation. Connect a tachometer according to the instruction of manufacturer. Connect a wire from a tachometer to contact of IG of the electric socket (see rice. Connection of a tachometer to contact of the IG socket of communication of the data located in the lower part of a motor compartment). Start the engine, warm up it up to the normal working temperature and measure idling turns.
2. Using an additional wire, close contacts of TE1 and E1 of the electric socket.
3. At short circuit of contacts of TE1 and E1 the frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine has to increase to 1000–2000 rpm within 5 seconds. Then idling turns have to be established.
4. Remove the additional closing wire.
5. Disconnect the electric socket from the control air IAC valve.
6. Measure resistance between average contact and lateral contacts of the electric socket (see rice. Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air +BI and SCC and +BI and SCO valve on the four-cylinder engine, rice. Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air +BI and RSC valve and + B and RSO on the engine 1MZ-FE V6, rice. Check of resistance between contacts of the electric socket of the control air B1 and S1 and V1 and S3 valve, and also between contacts of B2 and S2 and contacts of B2 and S4).
7. Connect the electric socket to the control air valve.
