4.18. Installation of piston rings

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of new piston rings check a gap in the lock of a piston ring. 2. Arrange pistons and piston rings according to cylinders in which they will work.
3. Install the top sealing ring in the first cylinder and the bottom of the piston push it in the cylinder to the cylinder basis.
4. Using the probe, measure a gap in the ring lock.
5. Repeat process of measurement with the ring established in the top part of the cylinder and compare results of measurement to technical requirements.
6. Repeat operation of check for each ring in the first cylinder, then for rings in other cylinders.
7. Establish piston rings on pistons in the same way, as well as at removal.
8. First of all the oil scraper ring which consists of three separate elements is established. Establish a dilator of an oil scraper ring in a piston flute. 9. Then consistently establish the top and lower oil scraper rings.
10. Establish a compression ring No. 2 so that the tag at an end face of a ring was directed up. Do not mix the first and second compression rings as they have various profile.
11. After installation of piston rings on the piston check ease of movement of a piston ring in a piston flute.
